      If the Pit Boss Grill unit has overheated, possibly due to a grease fire or excess fuel, press the Power Button to turn the unit off, and allow the grill to cool. After it cools, remove the pellets and confirm the positioning of all component parts. Once cooled, press the Power Button to turn the unit on, then select the desired temperature. If the error code is still displayed, contact Customer Service.

      If the fire pot of your Pit Boss Grill will not light, it could be due to several reasons. First, if the auger is not primed, follow the Hopper Priming Procedure. If the auger motor is jammed, remove cooking components, turn the Temperature Control Dial to SMOKE, and inspect the auger feed system. Visually confirm that the auger is dropping pellets into the fire pot. Also, inspect the igniter to confirm it is working, by placing your hand above the fire pot and feeling for heat and visually confirm that the igniter is protruding approximately 13mm / 0.5 inches in the fire pot.

      If your Pit Boss Grill is not achieving or maintaining a stable temperature, check the fire pot for ash build-up or obstructions. Also, check the fan to ensure it is working properly and the air intake is not blocked. Confirm the auger motor is operating and there is no blockage in the auger tube. Ensure the fuel level is sufficient and of good quality, without obstructions in the feed system. Check the status of the temperature probe.

Also, check the wood pellet quality and replace moist pellets with dry ones. Ensure the fire pot is not blocked and there is sufficient air intake for the fan.

      If the Pit Boss Grill displays an "ErP" error code, press the Power Button to turn the unit off, wait two minutes, then press the Power Button to turn the unit on again. Turn the Temperature Control Dial to SMOKE or the desired temperature. This safety feature prevents an automatic restart if the unit was not turned off properly when last connected to power.

      If there are no power lights on the Pit Boss Grill control board, first, press the Power Button and ensure it glows blue. Then, turn the Temperature Control Dial to a temperature setting. Also, ensure the unit is plugged into a working power source and reset the breaker. Check that the GFCI is a minimum 10 Amp service and all wire connections are firmly connected and dry. If the issue persists, the fuse on the control board may be blown and needs replacing, or the control board may be faulty and needs to be replaced.

      If you see flashing dots on the LCD screen of your Pit Boss Grill, this indicates the unit has power and is in Start-Up mode with the igniter on. This is normal and not an error. The igniter will turn off after five minutes, and the grill will begin to adjust to the desired temperature once the flashing dots disappear.
