4. Install the new friction roller with the shaft by aligning and inserting the roller
with the shaft onto the roller pitman on the scanner (in the direction of arrow
shown in the picture).
5. Roll the roller to make sure the roller is positioned at the right place. Close the
roller cover.
6. Close the ADF cover by pushing it back down until it snaps back into place.

1. Open the ADF cover by pulling the cover open lever.
