6. Remove the fasteners
r
securing the rear bearing
carrier to the upper and lower control arms.
7. With a short, sharp jerk, remove drive shaft from the
transmission splines.
REAR DRIVE SHAFT INSTALLATION
1. Install NEW spring ring on drive shaft. Apply an anti-
seize compound to the splines.
IMPORTANT
2019 General Models have an O-ring
A
on the drive
shaft. Ensure the O-ring is present and not damaged
before installation.
2. Align splines of drive shaft with transmission splines
and reinstall the drive shaft. Use a rubber mallet to
tap on the outboard end of the drive shaft if
necessary.
