Does the engine crank?
Ensure the ignition key (or remote switch) is in
the correct position:
• For Ignition Key Startup, turn key to START.
• For Recoil Pull Startup, turn key to ON.
• For Remote Startup, with ignition switch OFF,
set remote switch to ON before pressing the
start button on the key fob.

• Fully charge the battery.
The internal battery must have at least
10.5 cranking volts to power electronic
components and enable startup.
• Check all connections between the battery,
control panel, and electric starter.
• Check that the battery fuse is not missing and
not burned out.
Is the battery fully charged and connected?

No Spark
If the engine still does not start, take it to an
authorized POWERHOUSE® Service Center

Warning! Be sure there is no spilled fuel around
the spark plug. Spilled fuel may ignite.

To check spark:
• Remove the spark plug cap and clean any dirt from around the
spark plug.
• Remove the spark plug and install the spark plug in the spark
plug cap.
• Attach the plug side electrode to your ground wire.
• Turn the ignition key in the START position for a few cycles --
sparks should jump across the spark plug gap.
