Program Limiter
Highperformancedigitalli mitersareprovidedforeachoutputwithcontroloverattacktime,releasetimeand
thresholdparameters‐seepage29fordetails.Thislevelofcontrolallowstheusertobalancetherequired
subjectivequalityofthelimiteragainstthedriverprotectionrequirements.Itdoesalsomeanthatan
incorrectlysetlimitermaysoundawful!Inparti
cular,aswithalllimiters,usingtoofastanattackorrelease
timewillresultinexcessivelowfrequencydistortion.IntheDesign a Crossoversubmenuthereis
anoptionforautomaticlimitertimeconstants.Usethisoptionifyouareunsurehowtosettheti
me
constantsmanually.PROELrecommendtheuseoftheautomaticsetting.
InthismodethetimeconstantswillbeautomaticallysetfromtheHighPassfilterfrequencyaccordingtothe
tablebelow.

numbers(representingsamplesofaudio)toimplementallthefiltersanddynamicsprocessingwehavecome

signalinrelationtothesidechain(thesignalbe
ingmonitoredrelativetothethreshold),sothatitcan
compensateforpeakspriortothearrivalofthemainsignal.
