Grounding when using serial comms
Ensure that the Reach Alpha is grounded correctly when using serial communications to avoid a ground loop,
which can introduce interference or damage the device. This is detailed in the diagram below, using a Remotely
Operated Vehicle (ROV) power and comms module as an example.
When using RS485, ensure that PGND and SGND in the diagram below have a maximum voltage
difference of +5V or -7V.
When using RS232, ensure that PGND and SGND in the diagram below are tied directly together.
