8.1 Troubleshooting
The engine does not start, there is no spark in the spark plug.

Spark plug The spark plug is dirty or wet. Make sure that the spark plug is dry and
clean.
The spark plug electrode is dirty or has de-
posits.
Clean the spark plug electrode or replace the
spark plug.
The spark plug has an insulator damage. Replace the spark plug.
The electrode gap on the spark plug is incor-
rect.
Adjust the electrode gap on the spark plug.

gap.
Ignition module The ignition module has internal damage. Replace the ignition module.
The air gap of the ignition module is not cor-
rect.
Examine the air gap. Adjust the air gap if it is

The spark plug cable or spring of the spark
plug cap is damaged.
Examine the spark plug cable. Replace the
ignition module if it is damaged. Refer to

page 23
.
The cable to the ignition module is damaged
or disconnected.
Connect the cable to ignition module correctly
or replace the ignition module.
Stop switch The stop switch is off. Put the stop switch in the on position.
The stop switch is broken. Replace the stop switch.
The wires to the stop switch is disconnected
or damaged.
Connect the wires to the stop switch or re-
place the wires to the stop switch .
