7.5 Muffler
7.5.1 To remove and install the muffler
1. Remove the cylinder cover. Refer to
To remove and
install the cylinder cover on page 13
.
2. Remove the 3 screws.
3. Remove the muffler and the gasket.
4. Attach the muffler and screw (A), temporary tighten
the screw (A).
CAUTION: Use a new gasket when you
install the muffler.
CAUTION: Obey the tightening procedure to
make sure that the parts are correctly
assembled.
5. Install screw (B) and tighten to 8–12 Nm.
6. Install screw (C) and tighten to 8–12 Nm.
7. Tighten screw (A) to 8–12 Nm.
8. Tighten screw (B) again to 8–12 Nm.
7.5.2 To do maintenance of the muffler
WARNING: Do not use a product with a
defective muffler.
WARNING: The mufflers become very hot
during and after operation, also at idle speed.
Use protective gloves to prevent burn injuries.
1. Stop the engine and let the muffler become cool.

the muffler on page 15
