REMOTE CONTROL
A typical digital outboard remote control is shown
ab
ove. is control is in the straight up (neutral start-
ing) position. Note that mechanical controls are used
on select outboard models.
• e interlock switch prevents starting the engine in
gear. It is normally found under the far side of the
remote control handle and is colored red. When the
engine starts to run the interlock switch must be
pulled up and held until the remote control handle
is shi ed into forward or reverse gears.
• e up and down buttons control the trim of the
outboard in reference to the bow altitude of the
boat. Before starting the engine make sure the unit
is trimmed to the down position.
• When the neutral throttle only button is pushed in
and the control lever is shi ed forward the engine
speed increases for a faster neutral idle. When the
control handle reassumes the straight up neutral
position a er warm up the remote control can be
then shi ed into forward or reverse gear.
