REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a parts always to be replaced: refrigerant pipe seal
(30,02,02,52).
a parts always to be replaced: coolant-engine oil
heat exchanger seal on the cylinder block (10,05,
05,12).
a Clean off any drips of oil and coolant using a CLEAN
CLOTH :
-on the cylinder block,
-on the oil filter support,
-on the coolant pump inlet pipe.
a Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and ingredients for the repairwork) (04B, Consu-
mables - Products) to degrease:
-the housing of each seal in the oil-water heat ex-
changer if it is to be reused,
-the oil-water heat exchanger joint face if it is to be
reused,
-the mating face of each seal on the coolant pump
inlet pipe,
-the joint face on the cylinder block,
-the housing of each oil filter support seal,
-the housing of each seal in the oil filter support.
a Refit new seals (5) and (6) on the oil-water heat ex-
changer.
a Apply soapy water to the two seals (5) in contact
with the coolant pump inlet pipe.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Apply two drops of HIGH STRENGTH THREAD
LOCK (see Vehicle: Parts and ingredients for the
repairwork) (04B, Consumables - Products) to the
oil-coolant heat exchanger bolt.
a Refit the oil-water heat exchanger.
a Torque tighten the oil-water heat exchanger bolt
(39 N.m).
a Refit the oil filter holder.
a Torque tighten the oil filter support bolt (28 N.m).
a Connect the oil pressure sensor connector.
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Fit the "intermediate pipe - compressor" connecting
pipe fitted with a new seal onto the air conditioning
compressor.
a Remove the blanking plug from:
- the opening of the "intermediate pipe - compres-
sor" connecting pipe,
- the compressor opening.
