Thermostat: Removal - Refitting

II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Using the tool (Mot. 1448), separate the top hose
clip (2) on the coolant outlet unit.
a Disconnect the top hose from the coolant outlet unit.
a Remove:
-the thermostat cover bolts (3) ,
-the thermostat cover.
a Remove:
- the thermostat (4) ,
- the thermostat seal.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a parts always to be replaced: Thermostat seal
(10,06,03,03).
a Use SURFACE CLEANER (see Vehicle: Parts
and ingredients for the repairwork) (04B, Consu-
mables - Products) to clean and degrease the ther-
mostat housing.
II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit:
-a new seal on the thermostat,
- the thermostat,
- the thermostat cover.
a Connect the top hose to the coolant outlet unit.

WARNING
To ensure proper sealing, the gasket surfaces
must be clean, dry and not greasy (avoid any fin-
ger marks).
