Exhaust: Precautions for repair

Exhaust sleeve with two bolts
Apply EXHAUST MASTIC (see Vehicle: Parts and
ingredients for the repairwork) (04B, Consumables -
Products) inside the sleeve.
To prevent any exhaust leaks, it is important to position
the sleeve correctly on both lugs (1) .
Place the sleeve on the worn section of the pipe.
Adjust the clamp diameter by tightening the nut slightly.
Fit the new component.
The clamp nut (2) is equipped with a groove to ensure
the correct tightening torque.
While tightening, a clicking sound indicates a tighte-
ning torque of 25 N.m.
After tightening the sleeve, check that the cutting
marks are correctly aligned.

IMPORTANT
Position the « nut and bolt securing the sleeve »
assembly so that the assembly cannot come into
contact with the underbody.
WARNING
Do not reuse a used clamp.
Note:
Check that the exhaust pipe is not touching the
body.
Check that all the heat shields are present.
