8. Sensor installation
a) Install U-bolts and metal plate
 Thewindvaneandspeedcupsarefragile.Tohelppreventdamage,installtheU-boltsandmetalplaterst.
• The U-bolts are used to mount the sensor package onto a pole.
• Once the metal plate is inserted, insert both U-bolts through the respective holes of the metal plate as shown.
 LooselyscrewonthenutsontheendsoftheU-bolts.Youwilltightentheselaterduringnalmounting.Final
assembly is also shown.
b) Install wind speed cups
• Left image: Push the wind speed cup assembly onto the shaft on the top side of the sensor package.
• Right image: Tighten the set screw using a cross head screwdriver (size PH0).
Make sure the cup assembly can rotate freely. There should be no noticeable friction when it is turning.
