3.5.2 HORIZONTAL ENCODER STRIP
Preparation:
 Remove platen or ADF. ( 3.2.$, 3.2.5)
 Raise the scanner unit to full upright. ( 3.2.7)
 Remove: (1) scanner unit, (2) left cover, (3) right cover, (4) rear cover
( 3.2.14, 3.2.12, 3.2.10, 3.2.15)
The carriage is locked when the triangles [A] and [B] are at the positions shown on the left.
1. Insert the tip of a plus (+) screwdriver into the hole at [C] and turn in counter-clockwise
until the triangles [A] and [B] are aligned as shown on the right.
2. Push the carriage unit [1] to the center of the machine.
