Servicing
The control valve was checked by SAMSON
before it left the factory.
Certain test results certied by SAMSON
lose their validity when the valve is
opened. Such testing includes seat leakage
and leak tests.
The product warranty becomes void if
service or repair work not described in
these instructions is performed without
prior agreement by SAMSON's after-sales
service.
Only use original spare parts by
SAMSON, which comply with the original
specications.
9.1 Periodic testing
Depending on the operating conditions,
check the valve at certain intervals to prevent
a possible failure before it can occur. Opera-
tors are responsible for drawing up an in-
spection and test plan.
Our after-sales service can support you in
drawing up an inspection and test plan for
your plant.
Note
Tip
We recommend the following inspection and testing which can be performed while the pro-
cess is running:
Inspection and testing Action to be taken in the event of a negative result:
Check the markings, labels and name-
plates on the valve for their readability
and completeness.
Immediately renew damaged, missing or incorrect name-
plates or labels.
Clean any inscriptions that are covered with dirt and are il-
legible.
Check the pipe connections and gaskets
on the valve and actuator for leakage.
Check the bolted joint (tightening torque).
Replace the gasket (see section9.4)
Adjust the packing (see information under 'Adjusting the
packing' in the 'Testing the installed valve' section) or re-
place it (see section9.4).
