Using Abbreviated Dialing
Abbreviated Dialing is similar to speed dialing. You can
use either of the following abbreviated dialing features.
䢇 Contacts Match – Retrieve any number saved in your
Contacts by entering only the last four to six digits of
the number.
䢇 Abbreviated Dialing – Prepend the first five or six digits
(for example, the area code and prefix) to any four or
five digits you enter. Press to dial the resulting
number.
To place a call using Contacts Match Abbreviated Dialing:
1. Enter the last four to six digits of a Contacts entry’s
phone number.
2. Press to call the displayed number.
䡲 If there is more than one matched number in your
Contacts, the Abbrev. Dial list displays. Select the
name you want to call from the list, and then
press to place a call.
To place a call using Prepend Abbreviated Dialing:
1. Enter the last four to five digits of the number.
2. Select the Abbrev. Dial entry from the screen and
press .
Dialing From the Contacts List
1. Highlight and press > Contacts.

Press
Contacts (right softkey) from the main menu.
2. Select the entry you want to call and press to
dial the entry’s default phone number.

To dial another number from the same entry, select
the name, press , and then select a number
and press .
Note
You must first activate the Call Match and/or
Abbreviated Dialing Settings to use these features.
