2.4 NUMBERING SCHEMES FOR PIMS & WIRELESS READERS
This section shows examples of both valid and invalid device numbering on an individual DSI 485 Section.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Reader numbers 1 through 16 are valid on the network bus; no duplicates allowed on the network bus no
matter how many PIMs are installed
PIM numbers 1 through 16 are valid on the network bus; no duplicate PIM numbers allowed.
You must configure the HI-LO RANGE in the PIMs; you cannot link a reader to a PIM who’s Reader ID is
outside the HI-LO Range.
Do not overlap HI-LO RANGES;
2.4.1 VALID ADDRESSING OF AN AD400-ONLY NETWORK
You must use unique numbers for the PIM ID and Readers. The diagram below shows an example of valid
device numbering for Schlage AD-400 PIM & AD-400 Wireless Readers.
