4 Delivery, Packaging and Transport
4.1 Transport
Improper transport and unloading
Risk of personal injury or property damage
Ensure that the hoists and slings used have the necessary specifications.
Ensure that any personnel involved in transporting or unloading with lifting
devices or industrial trucks are authorized and qualified to do so.
Secure the chain hoist according to national regulations before every transport
operation.
Wear protective work shoes (S1) and work gloves (safety category 2133).
4.2 Delivery
4.2.1 Items Included in Delivery
Refer to the order confirmation for precise details of what is included in the delivery. The delivery
documents list the weights of the individual components and the dimensions.
The operating and maintenance instructions are an integral part of the chain hoist and
must accompany the device whenever it moves to a new location.
4.2.2 Checking for Completeness
Compare the entire delivery with the supplied delivery notes to make sure nothing is missing.
4.2.3 Reporting Damage
Following delivery of the shipment, damage caused by defective packaging or during transit must be
reported immediately to the carrier and to J. Schmalz GmbH.
