1.5 Regulations in these Instructions
Failure to observe the instructions
The lifting device may not be started or used until the operating and
maintenance instructions have been read and understood.
These operating and maintenance instructions are an integral part of the chain hoist. They must
accompany it wherever it is transported.
These operating and maintenance instructions are specific to the items included in delivery from
Schmalz. They do not take into account any modifications to the chain hoist made by the customer,
which are strictly prohibited.
1.6 General Safety Instructions
Failure to follow the general safety instructions
Personal injury/damage to plants or systems
Protective equipment for operating and maintenance personnel must be
provided and worn (see chapter 1.13).
Carry out assembly or disassembly work only when the device is disconnected
from the power supply.
Personnel and animals are not permitted to sit or stand in the danger zone.
Only use the lifting device for its intended use (chapter 1.7).
Danger zones must be cordoned off and clearly labeled with warning signs.
You are also responsible for third parties in the working area of the system. For this reason, the
responsibilities for the various tasks to be carried out on the chain hoist must be clearly specified and
observed. The competency of those responsible must be assured.
Failure to follow the general safety instructions
Personal injury/damage to plants or systems
All safety features must be in proper working order.
Safety features must not be disabled.
The chain hoist must be in perfect working order and must have the necessary
specifications for the particular load.
The chain hoist may only be operated in the original condition as delivered.
The manufacturer assumes no liability for consequences of modifications over
which it has no control, in particular, replacement of original parts with parts
from other sources.
