8.2 General Overhaul
A general overhaul must be performed once the theoretical usage period is reached (or at the latest
after 10 years if not using a plant data collection device). This is to ensure that the device is in
sufficient condition to allow safe operation for a further usage period. The components must be
checked and replaced in accordance with Table 11. The inspection and approval for continued use
must be performed by a specialist company authorized by the manufacturer or by the manufacturer
themselves.
The inspector determines:
What new theoretical usage period is possible
The maximum period of time until the next general overhaul
This information must be recorded in the inspection book.
