4.3 Product Features and Components
Ease of operation
Self explanatory and simple connection between cutting head and suction ring.
Autoclavable cutting head, rings, tonometer, pendulum axis and lid speculum.
4.3.1 Cutting Head
The cutting head and blade are designed in a convex form similar to the cornea itself.
Due to the unique pendulum motion of the Carriazo-Pendular, the cornea becomes more
applanated in the center than in the periphery. This technology provides a higly prdictable flap
thickness and very smooth cutting edges.
Made of surgical stainless steel.
Cutting head without external gears.
Driven by two separate powerful electric motors
Ingenious pendulum drive system
Different thicknesses of cutting head.
Choice of 360° hinge position
Automated cutting.
Simple connection between cutting head and suction ring.
