6.2 Device Operation
6.2.1 Assembling the Microkeratome, Vacuum Test
The assembling of the microkeratome, connection the disposable tubing, the vacuum test - are
described in the manual “Treatment Guideline”.
6.2.2 Connection of the Console
CAUTION
Check the selected voltage on the rear of the console first.
Incorrect voltage selection in combination with wrong fuses can damage the
console.
1. Install the console on a stable table close to the treatment area. To ensure air ventilation,
do not place anything directly on the backside of the console.
2. Before connecting the power supply check the provide mains voltage and check the
selected voltage in combination with the corresponding fuses on the rear of the console.
3. Connect mains to load the internal UPS. The standby is indicated by the green “charge”
LED on the front display.
4. Connect the foot pedal to the electronic console and tighten the connector.
5. Connect the motor cable for the cutting head to the console.
6. Connect the sterile tubing to the console.
7. Switch on the console at the front and set the console in ready mode. The LCD Display
will become active.
CAUTION
The console has to dry out for a minimum of 6 hours after installation, to ensure
that no condensed water will damage the electronics.
Only a moist towel with alcohol must be used to clean the body of the electronic
console.
6.2.3 Switch ON/OFF the Console
Switch on the console at the front and set the console in ready mode. The LCD Display will
become active.
On/off knob: Switches the console into operation mode. The system is not completely off,
indicated by the green “charge” LED.
