CAUTION
Damage of device!
The user/operator is responsible for the disinfection, cleaning and sterility of the
system and must ensure that only proper cleaning and disinfection solutions and
utilities are employed, and that only product-specific pre-processing instructions
and parameters are used as recommended by SCHWIND.
Furthermore, national laws, regulations and recommendations, as well as
cleaning instructions of the respective hospital, should be regarded.
Additionally, follow the manufacturer’s instructions of the cleaning and
disinfection agent.
Do not user ether, acetone or aggressive detergents on painted surfaces! They
can damage the surfaces of the device or damage the medical device itself.
Apply only cleaning and disinfection solutions that are intended for medical
instruments.
Pay attention to expiration date of cleaning and/or disinfection solutions.
After opening, use solutions within the time frame recommended by the
manufacturer.
Do not use solutions with visible contamination.
Do not use abrasives, scrapers or brushes for cleaning! This can lead to reduced
precision of the parts and to unforeseen damage.
The parts and components are highly precise, sensitive instruments. They should
be handled with special care.
The drive/motor and the drive/motor cable may not be sterilized (neither with an
autoclave nor with ETO gas)!
Never exceed the following temperatures:
- Electric drive/motor and cable higher than 50 °C.
All microkeratome parts must be carefully cleaned and disinfected immediately
after every surgical treatment.
Disassemble the system before cleaning (heads, motor).
Never immerse the drive and/or the drive cable into a solution!
During cleaning pay attention that no liquid cleaning agents or water enter the
device.
Allow the device to dry before operating!
Single-use blades and single-use tubes must be changed after each treatment and
properly disposed of (use only once!).
WARNING
Contact with patient secretions and/or processing solutions can endanger your
health.
Therefore, always wear prescribed protective clothing during pre-processing.
Make sure that the cleaned parts do not come in contact with the patient.
