Disintegrator Controls
• START: Turns the motors on one at a time to avoid large current spikes.
• REVERSE: Used to manually unjam the Stage 1 chamber. Also illuminates during automatic
unjamming of Stage 1.
• STOP: Stops the Stage 1 chamber and begins the timed shutdown for the Stage 2 chamber.
• RESET: Indicates jams and is used to reset the machine after Stage 1 is unjammed.
o RESET light illuminated solid indicates a jam in Stage 1 of the cutting chamber.
o RESET light flashing indicates a jam in Stage 2 of the cutting chamber.
o NOTE: The reset button must be extinguished in order for any other button to work on the unit.
• AIR SYSTEM FAULT: Indicates the bag inside the vacuum fan system is full; however, it may also
indicate that other issues have reduced the airflow. For details, see Air System Fault, page 46.
• FEED: Indicates when the next piece of material can be fed. Press this button each time you feed a
piece of material. It illuminates when the unit is ready to be fed again.
• Emergency Stop (E-STOP): Immediately shuts down the SSD2-HS disintegrator and vacuum fan
system. Use only in emergency situations. Located next to the control panel.
• Hour Meter: Displays the number of hours the unit has been running. Located on the left side of the
unit.
• Control Power Button: Press to power or depower the unit. Located on the side of the unit.
