12. Simple Real-Time Data Processing
This step-by-step procedure covers the acquisition, display and storage of processed data in
real time.
• Connect the instrument to the computer and establish
communication in the LISST-SOP200X program. (see
Step-by-Step Procedure: Establishing Communication
with the LISST-200X)

• Before starting a Real-Time session the output file options
must be set. This must be done before selecting Collect
Realtime Data. Select the Output tab in the Settings
menu. The window below will appear.

A binary PBN file must be selected before any other file type
will be stored. This is used to display the processed data to
the screen.
• The CSV type is a comma delimited file containing all the
processed data.
• The RTX file is a comma delimited file containing the raw
data from the data logger.
• You must also select the inversion model to be used with
the real time data processing: Spherical, randomly
shaped or both. For details on these selections, see
Appendix G: Spherical and Random Shape Particle
