SECTION 2 – OPERATION
2-38
Rear Wheel Weights
Tire Type Weight(s)
Agricultural tire only Maximum of (4) weights
per tractor @ 30 kg each
120 kg total
LIQUID BALLAST (OPTIONAL)
It is a common practice to add weight to the
tractor by filling rear tires with liquid. A calcium
chloride (CaCl
2
) and water solution is
recommended due to its low freezing point and
greater density (weight per volume) than pure
water.
Never exceed the total recommended weight for
the tractor. Because special equipment is
required to fill the tires, consult your SHIBAURA
Dealer.
Tires should never be filled beyond 75%. At 75%
full, the liquid will come to the valve stem when
the valve stem is at its highest point at the top of
the wheel.
TIRE PRESSURE
Tire pressure must be considered when adding
weights, implements, or attachments to the
tractor or damage to the tractor may occur.
The chart below outlines tire inflation pressures.
FRONT TIRE INFLATION PRESSURES
Tire Type Tire Size Inflation Pressure Load Capacity per Axle
AG 8-16 4PR 100 - 160 kPa 720 – 950kg
TURF 27x10.5-15 4PR 100 - 210 kPa 800 – 1,200kg
Large Turf (FD) 8-16 4PR 100 - 160 kPa 720 – 950kg
Industrial (R4) 10-16.5 6PR 120 - 275 kPa 800 – 1,250kg
REAR TIRE INFLATION PRESSURES
Tire Type Tire Size Inflation Pressure Load Capacity per Axle
AG 13.6-24 4PR 80 –
100 kPa 1,820 – 1,950kg
TURF 475/65D20 4PR 80 –
140 kPa 1,950kg
Large Turf (FD) 13.6-28 6PR 80 –
160 kPa 1,950kg
Industrial (R4) 17.5L-24 10PR 80 –
220 kPa 1,950kg
NOTE:
Do not underinflate or overinflate tires. Do not exceed maximum inflation pressure listed.
