Open Listening
(optiset E basic, optiset E standard, optiset E advance
plus/comfort, optiset E advance conference/conference,
and optiset E memory)
While engaged in a call and using the handset you
can switch on the telephone speaker temporarily
to enable others in the room to listen to the call.
Let the other party know that you have turned on
the speaker. Keep in mind that it is illegal to moni-
tor calls without the other party’s consent.
Precondition:
You are conducting a call with the
handset.

Directed Call Pickup
You can answer calls for other telephones from
your own phone. You can do this while a call is in
progress.
Precondition:
You hear another telephone ring.
Press the Speaker key; the LED lights up.
Continue the call. Other people in the room can lis-
ten in on the call via the speaker.

Press the illuminated Speaker key; the LED goes
out.
