If an event occurs which is supposed to trigger a hardware interrupt but the previous,
identical event has not yet been processed, no further hardware interrupt is triggered. The
hardware interrupt is lost. This may lead to the "Hardware interrupt lost" diagnostic interrupt,
depending on the parameter assignment.
