19.Select the required I/O data in the address table of all block types.
Multiple selection is typical for Windows.
Note
You can find information on the block types in the section "Block model of device
parameters (Page 13)". The following block types are used by default:
● Resource blocks
● Function blocks
● Transducer blocks
Refer to the documentation of the device manufacturer for information about the required
blocks and any necessary CiF interconnections.
20.Select the menu command Assign address from the shortcut menu.
Addresses are assigned for the selected functions.
You may have to change the start address.
You can find information on this in section "Device addresses (Page 11)".
21.Assign symbolic names for all addresses.
This measure makes for easier configuration:
– Select a required row (function) again in the address table.
– Select the menu command Edit > Symbols.
The "Edit symbols - ..." dialog box opens.
– Assign a name in the "Symbol" list. You can automatically add the symbols.
– Click "OK".
– Repeat this step for all required functions of the FF device.
22.Select Station > Save and Compile from the menu.

Download when "Address" and "TAG" match
You can download to the FF device, provided that the "Address" and "TAG" in the
configuration correspond the settings of the FF device.
Note
Download with unknown device address of the device in the plant
Select the following menu command in SIMATIC Manager to find the FF device in the
plant: Edit > SIMATIC PDM > Start LifeList.
When you find the desired device, do the following:
1. Select the menu command Devices > Assign address and TAG.
2. Transfer the correct address and TAG to the FF device.
Note: Changing the address will restart the device.
3. Download the configuration to the device.
