Adapting the macro cycle
If the macro cycle has to be adjusted after all the FF devices have been downloaded, then all
FF devices have to be downloaded again. Observe the following especially after the following
actions:
● Adding FF devices
● Adding new interconnections with the Interconnection Editor
● Using new connections via the CPU
● Using new I/O data
Note
Adjusting the macro cycle requires a STOP of the FF segment
A STOP of the FF segment is associated with adjusting the macro cycle.
Recommendation for commissioning:
Configure a CiR object and a sufficiently long macro cycle at the FF segment.
Calculate schedule
The schedule is calculated in PCS 7 with the following actions:
● The schedule is automatically calculated when you download the configuration.
● When you click the "Calculate schedule" button in the "Properties - Foundation Fieldbus"
in the "Macrocycle" tab.
Including device-internal blocks
● The following blocks are considered when diagnosing FF devices:
– Interconnected function blocks
– Resource blocks
– Transducer blocks
● Only interconnected function blocks are edited and added to the schedule calculation.
● Changes made with SIMATIC PDM become effective only for interconnected function
blocks.
