Manipulating the System Trays
Warning: Only personnel with extensive experience repairing server hardware should
attempt to replace or upgrade components inside an SGI Octane III deskside workstation
enclosure.
The system trays are accessed via the rear of the system enclosure; refer to Figure 1-1. You must
remove the rear fan assemblies to access the system trays. You will manipulate system trays to
replace/upgrade memory DIMMs, disk drives, and PCIe cards.
