14 Transmission Tear-Down
Disassembly
16. Using a 14mm socket, loosen and remove the three
bolts that retain the center section. Remove the
brake assembly bolts and brake assembly. Before
lifting and removing the center section from the upper
case, be sure to note the letter on the fixed swash-
plate. It must be reassembled with that letter facing
up. If assembled incorrectly, the unit will run back-
wards.

17. Carefully lift the center section up and out of the
upper case. The fixed swashplate, motor rotating
group, and shaft can now be separated. Use care
when handling all these parts.
