SETTING:
Remove excessive ploy between worrn gea r cmd
worm by loosening two screws in worm (see inset
Fig. 25) and moving worm forward on shof·.
When t he worrn gear is properly assemb l ed on
vert i cal shah, the sp ot and set screws shown shculd
be equally accessib le through side opening in arm
casting.
Insure mini mum play between vertical shaft
pin ion geor and com supporting gear by loosenin9

LATE RA L FEED LI NKAGE
CHECK:
Lateral feed linkage should be adiu•ted so th at
feed plate moves the some distance on one side of
need le hole in throat plate as it moves on the othc~
side . Then, lateral feed linkage should be ad justed
to increase or decrease the distance feed plate
moves on both sides of needle hole.
NO TE: Hole in feed plate does not necessarily
hove to be ccntro li :zed to obta in the obovc setti n g.
