SETTING 1: (To obta in eq ua l di stance )
Re mo v~ cy li nde r arm cover and ve rt i cal arm
cover (S ee Fig. 27 ).
I nsert button to be sewn in to clomp, engage
machine i nto .. run" position and rotate machine
pul l ey unti l needle is just above button (See F ig. 26).
Loo sen clomp screws A and B, Fig . 27 , and move
feed p la te so that b utt on is ce nte r ed lat eral ly ( across
cyl in de r) as shown in inset F ig. 27 .
At this posit i on, l ate ral rock shaft d riv ing orm
and driven arm sho uld be pa ra llel as shown in in set,
Fi g. 27 . If n ecessory, move li nkage as re qui r ed to
obta in this po sition . Th en secu r ely tigh te n screw A.
Next, obt oin co rr ec t position of nee dle in re·
lot ion to holes in button by turning machine pulley
and movi ng feed pl at e to bring n eedle in to right
re ar ha le of butto n. Then tig hte n screw 6.
