8 Sanitation of waterlines
Perform sanitation once a week. This is the only way
to effectively combat the formation of biofilm in the
waterlines.
• Clean the rinsing media tank thoroughly and then fill
it with MicroCLEAR USA (Rowpar Pharmaceuticals
Inc.)
• Fit the full rinsing media tank in its socket.
• Remove the PerioSonic handpiece from its holder
with the tip attached and start the water flow by step-
ping on the right foot switch pedal (11) or pressing
key .
Flush the water lines of the unit and handpiece with
MicroCLEAR USA for 60 seconds each.
Perform this procedure on both rinsing media tanks.
• Return the handpiece to its holder, switch the unit
OFF with the main switch (1) and allow
MicroCLEAR USA to act. See the instruction manu-
al of MicroCLEAR USA for the residence time.
After the reaction time has elapsed:
• Clean the rinsing media tank thoroughly and then fill
in fresh water.
• Fit the full rinsing media tank in its socket.
• Switch ON the unit with the main switch (1).
• Remove the PerioSonic handpiece from its holder
with the tip screwed on and start the water flow by
stepping on the right foot switch pedal (11) or press-
ing key .
Flush the water lines of the unit and handpiece with
fresh water for 60 seconds each.
Perform this procedure on both rinsing media tanks.
Repeat the rinsing process with hydrogen peroxide
= 3 % (available from your dental depot) to disinfect the
water-lines in the unit.
Waterline sanitation is completed now, and the unit
is ready for use again.
