4.12 COMPOSE SMS (REQUIRES ISAT200A WITH CDP FW 6.X+)
Allows the user to send a text message to any SMS enabled phone.
Main Menu Compose SMS
Presents the user with 2 sub-menu options
Enter New Number
Use Addr Book
4.12.1 ENTER NEW NUMBER
Enter a new number that may not be in the address book.
Note: As with satellite telephone calls, the full international telephone number is required. E.g. 001 250 765 2393
4.12.2 USE ADDR BOOK
Select an existing phone number from the address book stored in the CDP/DVI.
4.12.3 SENDING THE MESSAGE
After the phone number is entered or selected, the screen will show Enter Msg Bdy’, type in your message using
the DVI keypad.
When the message is ready to be sent, push the Enter key. A confirmation screen will appear ‘Send SMS?’,
select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ and press the Enter key, to send or discard the message.
The recipient may reply to the message the same as any other text message they would receive on their phone.
The reply will appear on the CDP as a new message in the ‘Inbox’ similar to an email arriving.
