Only for vehicles with automatic transmission: S flashes
alternately with the currently selected transmission position. A
warning tone also sounds.
Further pulling
away or crawling manoeuvres have led to a critical
clutch temperature.

Pull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, paying
attention to road and traffic conditions.

Secure the vehicle to prevent it from rolling away.
X
Wait until the automatic transmission has cooled down and the
display message does not reappear after acknowledging it.

The symbol flashes for a maximum of 5 seconds and in addition a
warning tone sounds.
Lane Keeping Assist warning.
You are crossing a detected outer lane marking without indicat-
ing.

Remain in lane, paying attention to road and traffic conditions.

Indicate to change lane.

The symbol flashes for about 3 seconds and in addition a warning
tone sounds. The symbol is then hidden.
Lane Keeping Assist is malfunctioning and deactivated. Possible
causes:
R
the windscreen is dirty in the camera's field of vision.
R
visibility is impaired due to heavy rain, snow or fog.
R
there are no lane markings for a longer period.
R
the lane markings are worn, dark or covered, e.g. by dirt or snow.
R
the system electronics are faulty.
Lane Keeping Assist is automatically operational again when the
causes mentioned above no longer apply.
If the windscreen is dirty:

Pull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, paying
attention to road and traffic conditions.
X
Secure the vehicle against rolling away (Y page 107).
X
Clean the outside of the windscreen (Y page 179).
If the windscreen is clean and the causes listed above do not apply,
then the electronics are malfunctioning.

Visit a qualified specialist workshop.
