3.6.2.5.3 Thyroid measurement (THY)
Function: By measuring thyroid length, width and height, thyroid
volume is estimated.
Calculation formula:
thyroid volume＝0.520 × Length× Height× Width.
Measurement method:
1. press the【Calc】key to pop up the Meas & Calc menu, move the
trackball, use the cursor to select “Small Part”, press the【SET】key
to go to the submenu, move the trackball to select “thyroid “, go to
“thyroid “measurement mode.
2. Measure thyroid long diameter Length; see “Distance Measurement”
for the specific method.
3. Measure thyroid width Width, see “Distance Measurement” for the
specific method.
4. Measure thyroid height Height, see “Distance Measurement” for the
specific method.
5. Based on the formula to calculate thyroid volume, the measurement
and calculation result is displayed in the result area.
6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 to perform the next measurement.
