About water resistancy
This unit
is
designed for use
in
a marine
environment.
To
protect the unit from water spray,
waves, rain, moisture, ultraviolet rays, etc., the unit
has undergone the following tests
to
ensure
reliability and functionality (Front panel only):
• Water resistant front panel - IPx5 certified
• Salt fog resistant - Tested under ASTM B
117
• Conformal coated circuit board
•
UV
resistant - Tested under ASTM G I54
Notes
• Be sure to close the front panel
to
maintain water
resistant performance, except when inserting/
ejecting
a disc.
• Do not allow water to contact the unit except the
front panel.
• Do not use this unit in the following places:
- places where the unit maybe subject to high water
pressure, hot springs
or
bathtubs, etc.
- underwater.

Resetting
the
unit
Before
operating
the unit for the first time,
or
after replacing the
boat's
battery
or
changing
the
connections,
you
must
reset the unit.
Open
the front panel (page 12) and press the
RESET
button (page 8) with a pointed object,
such
as a ball-point pen.
Note
Pressing the RESETbutton will erase the clock setting
and
some stored contents.
Canceling
the
DEMO
mode
You can cancel the
demonstration
display
which
appears
during
turning off.
1 Press and hold
(SELECT/ENTER
).
The
setup
display appears.
2 Press
(SELECT/ENTER)
repeatedly until
"DEMO" appears.
3 Rotate the control dial to select
"DEMO-OFF."
4 Press and hold
(SELECT/ENTER).
The
setup is
complete
and
the display returns
to normal play/reception mode.
