Preparations
The output format for the unit can be set to
“NTSC Area” or “PAL Area.” Specify the output
format based on your region of use. The factory-
default setting is “NTSC Area.”
Configure the setting using the “Country” setting
in the OTHERS menu.
Turn the SEL/SET knob to select a setting value,
and press the knob to set the value.
1 Display the OTHERS menu, and select
“Country.”
For details on menu operations, see “Basic
Menu Operations” (page 38).
The currently configured output format
appears.
2 Turn the SEL/SET knob to select the
output format, and then press the knob.
The output format is configured.
The type of signals output from the unit will differ
depending on the “Country” setting in the
OTHERS menu (see page 41). The following
indicates the signals that are output.
Synchronization (genlock) is required if you want
to shoot with two or more this units, or combine
this unit with other equipment.
To synchronize, input a sync signal to the EXT
SYNC IN connector. The usable sync signal
formats depend on the setting of “Country”
(NTSC Area or PAL Area) in the OTHERS
menu.
When Country is set to NTSC Area: 1080/
59.94i or 480/59.94i
When Country is set to PAL Area: 1080/50i or
575/50i
Notes
• Genlock (generator lock) is a technique for
synchronizing signals. Multiple picture signals
are synchronized to eliminate discrepancies in
timing.
• It is not possible to establish genlock when the
sync signal is unstable.
• The subcarrier is not synchronized.
• Time data superimposed on HD SDI is not
synchronized.
