Why is there sound interruption or noise with my Sony UWP-D21?
    • J
      Jasmine WatsonNov 24, 2025
To resolve sound interruption or noise with your Sony Microphone system, ensure that the channel setting is the same on both the transmitter and tuner. Avoid using the same channel for two or more transmitters. If using multiple transmitters, configure them to different channels within the same channel group to prevent signal interference. Use channels separated by at least two channels (250 kHz). Also, adjust the output level on the tuner and the reference input level on the camcorder. Move the transmitter and tuner further apart, and turn off any unused tuners. If you are using a camcorder, be aware that beeping noises, crackling or squealing sounds, or hum noise can occur due to interference from the camcorder's media access, Wi-Fi, or LCD backlight. Amber Scott MDAug 23, 2025
If your Sony Microphone system isn't producing any sound, make sure the channel setting on the transmitter matches the tuner. Confirm the transmitter is on and reduce the distance between it and the tuner if the transmission output is weak. Ensure the transmitter is set to microphone input, not line level. The compander mode setting on both devices should be the same. Also, check if the transmitter is muted and change the MUTE SETTING if it is set to PTT HOLD.
