STANDARD TEST PROCEDURE
FOR UPLOADING RECORDS TO THE PC
1. BIRD DOG PLUS
1.1 Attach the RS232 cable to the Bird Dog Plus & personal computer
1.2 Attach the battery charger to the Bird Dog Plus
1.3 Turn the Bird Dog Plus on
1.4 From the METER CIRCUIT SELECTED screen press UNDEFINED
1.5 From the LOCATION CODE screen press EXIT
1.6 From the MAIN MENUselect COMM.(19200)/RECORDS
1.7 From the COMM. AND RECORDS MENU select PC UPLOAD/RECORDS
1.8 From the PC UPLOAD AND RECORDS screen select UPLOAD ALL
RECORDS (This will produce a screen reading ESTABLISHING COMM. WITH
PC.)
2. PERSONAL COMPUTER
2.1 From PC desktop, double left click on Bird Dog Plus icon to open program
2.2 From the Spinlab 5000 Bird Dog Plus screen, left click on Communications.
From the Communications screen, highlight the appropriate PC Com Port; Baud
Rate. Then left click on Finished. (Perform this only once when you initially set
up communications.)
2.3 From the Spinlab 5000 Bird Dog Plus screen, left click on Upload Data
2.4 From the Upload Data screen, enter File Name (suggest that you use BDmmddyy
with mm-month, dd-day, yy-year)
2.5 Left click on Receive (then bottom left of screen will proceed to Complete 100%,
Upload Complete, when finished)
2.6 Left click on SpinGraph to observe file data in SpinGraph spreadsheet to assure
records transfer is completed and correct (If for any reason the data did not upload
correctly, go to the Bird Dog Plus. Do not delete the records in Bird Dog Plus.
Start over at Step 1.1.)
3. BIRD DOG PLUS
3.1 From UPLOAD COMPLETED screen, press YES to delete records in Bird Dog
Plus
3.2 From the ARE YOU SURE screen, press YES to complete deleting records
3.3 Turn Bird Dog Plus off
