3.3 Machine
Test the machine with the ADG 2 analyzer – see @ 5
Condition Cause Remedy
Machine does not run No electrical contact between machine
and battery
Remove the battery, visually check con-
tacts and refit battery
Battery flat (1 LED on battery flashes
green)
Recharge the battery
Battery too hot / too cold (1 LED on battery
glows red).
Allow battery to cool down / allow battery to
warm up slowly at temperatures of about
15°C - 20°C (60°F - 70°F).
Fault in battery (4 LEDs on battery flash
red)
Take the battery out of the machine and
refit it. Switch on the machine – if the LEDs
continue to flash, the battery has a mal-
function and must be replaced.
Machine too hot / too cold (3 LED on bat-
tery glows red)
Allow machine to cool down.
Fault in machine (3 LEDs on battery flash
red)
Take the battery out of the machine. Use a
blunt tool to remove dirt from the contacts
in the battery compartment. Refit the bat-
tery. Switch on the machine – if the LEDs
continue to flash, the machine is faulty.
Test machine with STIHL ADG 2 analyzer
and repair.
Contacts or connectors loose. Check contacts and connectors and make
secure.
Moisture in machine and/or battery. Allow machine / battery to dry. Test power
tool with STIHL ADG 2 and battery with
STIHL ADG 1.
Malfunction in electronic module. Test electronic module with STIHL ADG 2,
replace if necessary
Fault in trigger ir switch Check the trigger or switch and replace if
necessary.
Machine cuts out during operation Battery or machine's electronics too hot Take battery out of machine, allow battery
and machine to cool down
Electrical malfunction. Remove the battery and refit it
Motor overloaded; causes of overload: -
protective screen (air intake) blocked /
dirty.
Carry out visual inspection, clean protec-
tive screen if necessary and allow machine
to cool down, see also LEDs on battery, @
