11.9 Installing the Flat Springs
N Position the two plain flat springs (5) behind the
hooked flat spring (4).
N Insert screw (3) through the holes in the flat springs
and fit the nut (6).
N Push the nut (6) into its seat in the clutch housing (7).
N Hold the flat springs (4 and 5) steady to prevent them
twisting and tighten down the screw (3).
N Install the brake lever, @ 11.10.
11.10 Installing the Brake Lever
N Lubricate pins (8 and 17) with multipurpose grease.
N Push the brake lever (9) onto the pin (8).
N Lubricate brake lever (9) with multipurpose grease.
N Push retainer (2) over the brake lever (9). Brake lever
(9) must engage the opening in the retainer (2).
N Insert bearing pin (1) and tighten it down firmly.
N Fit E-clip (10) in groove of pin (8).
N Attach the brake spring (16) to the lever (9).
N Use assembly tool 1117 890 0900 (19) to attach
brake spring (16) to the anchor pin.
N Install the brake band, @ 11.11.
11.11 Installing the Brake Band
N Disengage the auger brake.
N Lubricate inside of brake band (15) with gear grease.
N Attach the brake band (15) to the brake lever (9).
N Fit the brake band (15) in its guide (20) in the clutch
housing (7).
N Engage the auger brake.
N Fit the brake band (15) in the clutch housing (7).
N Fit the insert (14).
N Insert and tighten down the screw (13).
N Fit the cover (18).
N Fit the cover (11).
