Only coat the seat for the ball
bearings (3) in the right-hand
gearbox housing with Loctite 648 if
the clutch drum and bearings are
going to be installed immediately in
the right-hand gearbox housing,
then married up to the left-hand
gearbox housing and screwed
together.
Disassembling the left-hand
gearbox housing
: Lever the complete shaft (1) with
ball bearings and oil seal
upwards and out of the gearbox
housing.

Disassembling and assembling
the shaft (1)
If the shaft (1) is stripped down,
always install new ball bearings (2).

Pull off the oil seal.
: Use puller 5910 890 4400 and
No. 2 jaws 0000 893 3700 to
remove the ball bearing (1).
: Pull the retaining ring (2) off the
shaft.

: Pull the output gears (1) and (2)
and washers (3) off the shaft.

: Use puller 5910 890 4400 and
No. 2 jaws 0000 893 3700 to
remove the ball bearing (1).

: Take the shim (1), output gear (2)
and shim (3) off the shaft.
There might be one of several
shims (1). When installing, make
sure the total thickness off the shims
at thispoint is 3.1 mm.

The shaft is assembled in the
reverse sequence.
Heat the ball bearing and push it
on as far as stop.
