11 Installing the Perimeter Wire
Maintain the wire clearance a = 11 in. (28 cm) at the
corners around high obstacles such as wall corners or
high flowerbeds (2). This keeps the robotic mower from
scraping against the obstacle.
Install the perimeter wire (1) with the aid of the
iMow Ruler (3) as illustrated.
Maintain the wire clearance a = 11 in. (28 cm) at the inner
corner of a high obstacles such as walls or high
flowerbeds (2). This keeps the robotic mower from
scraping against the obstacle.
Install the perimeter wire (1) with the aid of the
iMow Ruler (3) as illustrated.
11.4 Measuring Wire Clearances at Corners
In tapered corners (< 90°) the perimeter wire should be
installed as shown. The two angles must be at least one
length of the iMow ruler (a = 11 in. (28 cm)) apart so that the
robot mower can drive down the edge.
11.5 Routing the Perimeter Wire in Confined Areas
The robotic mower can travel automatically though narrow
passages, provided the minimum wire clearances are
maintained.
If you route the wire between obstacles higher than 0.4 in.
(1 cm), e.g. walls or hedges, keep a minimum wire
clearance of one length of the iMow ruler (b = 11 in.
(28 cm)).
If you route the wire between obstacles lower than 0.4 in.
(1 cm), e.g. paths or patios, keep a minimum wire
clearance of c = 17.4 in. (44 cm).
