7) Remove expansion valve (2) from evaporator.
8) Disconnect A/C evaporator inlet and outlet air
temperature sensor couplers (1).
9) Remove A/C evaporator outlet air temperature
sensor (2).
10) Remove air joint duct (3).
11) Pull out A/C evaporator from heater and cooling unit
(4).
Installation
Reverse removal procedure to install cooling unit noting
the following instructions.
• Replenish specified amount of compressor oil to
compressor suction side by referring to “Operation
Procedure for Refrigerant Charging”.
• Evacuate and charge refrigerant by referring to
“Operation Procedure for Refrigerant Charging”.
• Stick packing to expansion valve and expansion valve
pipe after installation.
• Sufficiently apply compressor oil to fitting surface of
O-ring and pipe.
A/C Evaporator Inspection

Check the following.
• Clog of A/C evaporator fins
If any clogs are found, A/C evaporator fins should be
washed with water and should be dried with
compressed air.
• Leakage and breakage of A/C evaporator fins
If any defects are found, repair or replace A/C
evaporator.
• Leakage of A/C evaporator fittings
If any defects are found, repair or replace A/C
evaporator.
A/C Evaporator Inlet and Outlet Air Temperature
Sensor Removal and Installation

Removal
1) Turn the ignition switch to ON position.
2) Set the air flow selector of HVAC control module to
vent position, and then turn the ignition switch OFF
position.
3) Disconnect the negative (–) cable at the battery.
4) Remove the glove box.
5) Remove the A/C evaporator inlet air temperature
sensor (1).
6) Remove the A/C evaporator outlet air temperature
sensor (1).
Installation
Reverse the removal procedure to install A/C evaporator
inlet and outlet air temperature sensors.
