Securing tailgate/step:
The removable tailgate/step is designed to secure items on the deck while in Travel mode
and in Transport mode, as well as to hold the GO license plate. In Transport mode, use the
included bungee strap to secure tailgate/step as shown in the Transport mode system
diagram. The bungee allows for some exibility, if items being transported exceed the length
of the deck. The tailgate/step is easily removable. To remove tailgate/step disconnect the
electrical connection and pull the tailgate/step removal pins and set aside.
Removal of rack and tent pod assembly:
There are two recommended methods for removing the rack and tent pod assembly. The
assembly is designed to separate from the lift system, with a tool-free, easy operation. The
weight of the rack and tent pod assembly is approx. 120 lbs, so care should be taken to avoid
strain or breakage.
A hoist system, like those used for garage canoe storage is a convenient system and can be
managed by one person.
1. Attach straps to underside of rack and tent pod assembly and secure.
2. Lower the lift system, using the winch crank handle by two counter-clockwise revolutions.
3. Give a twist at the top of each lift tube assembly. The lift tube assembly should drop
slightly at each corner.
4. Continue to lower the lift system, using the winch crank handle all the way.
A second method is to place a person at each corner, disconnect the rack and tent pod
assembly (as described above) and set aside.
