7 Wrapping
7.1 Loading film roll
Fit the roll of wrapping film in the
prestretcher. Note the direction of rotation.
Clean the rollers if necessary.
Attach the loose film end on the table. The
film tail will be released after the first rota-
tions and be wrapped.
7.2 Filmoverlap
The drive system is set up for constant 50%
overlap, i.e. when bale is covered all over,
two layers of film is applied.
Deviation might be caused by wear and tear
on the hydraulic components or wrong
setting on the table drive.
If a second prestretcher satellite is fitted,
make sure that roller drive gear ratio is
changed. Due to the second prestretcher
bale rotation speed should be doubled
7.3 No. of film layers
For grass, 6 layers of film are recom-
mended, laid according to the 2+2+2
method. 2+2 may be sufficient for short-term
storage in low temperature (e.g. wrapping
during the after-season).
70% prestretching of the film is the stand-
ard.
For long-term storage in areas with heavy
sunlight, 60% film prestretching is recom-
mended.
