This unit is equipped with SCMS (Serial Copy
Management System). SCMS is a system which
allows digital-signal copying of CDs and commercial
music DCC tapes only for one “generation”. The DCC
tape thus recorded cannot be used as a master tape

Digital-signal recording from a CD can be performed
only for the first generation of DCC tape. The DCC
tape thus recorded (1st generation) cannot be used
as a master to make further digital coples (serial
copies).

digital signals from a CD player recorded onto a DCC
in their original form cannot be recorded from the DCC
